Installation Procedures
(What happens when you order your custom made storm shelter)

  1. Your new storm shelter is delivered to your site on the day it is to be installed.

The shelter is delivered to your property on a truck.

  1. After we discuss the best location for your shelter, we measure and stake the site and begin to dig. (See diagram of in-ground installation)
After we choose the best placement, we dig the hole.
  1. When the hole has been completed, squared and leveled, the storm shelter is removed from the trailer and prepared for insertion.
The shelter is moved to the install site.
  1. Pre-welded Lift points help stabilize the shelter while it is moved into position.
The shelter is lifted from the truck and positioned for placement.
  1. The front end loader then lowers the shelter into the hole.
The shelter is lowered into the hole.
  1. Final placement and leveling of the shelter is next.
Next, the shelter is set in place and leveled.
  1. After your shelter has been leveled in the hole, concrete is poured at all four vertical sides. The elevated rails on the bottom of the shelter permit the "soupy" cement to ooze under and around your shelter.
Concrete is poured all around the shelter.
  1. After the concrete is permitted to set, dirt is scooped back into the hole. Any excess dirt can be spread on your property or hauled away.
Next, dirt is moved back into the hole and around the shelter.
  1. The final steps include the placement of the rotating vent on the rear air outlet.
The ground is restored to its original level except for a possible small rise over the shelter.
